Tyrannosaurus rex, often referred to as T-rex, is one of the most iconic and well-known dinosaurs that ever roamed the Earth. This massive meat-eating species lived during the late Cretaceous period, approximately 68 to 66 million years ago. With a towering height of about 20 feet and a length of up to 40 feet, T-rex was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs to ever exist. Its large, serrated teeth, measuring up to a foot long, were perfectly designed for tearing through flesh and bone with ease. Though T-rex is widely recognized for its fearsome appearance and reputation as the apex predator of its time, recent studies suggest that these mighty creatures may have been skilled scavengers in addition to being formidable hunters.
